Compound gauges are used when measuring a system seeing both positive and negative pressures.  Vacuum gauges are used on applications seeing only negative pressure.

Perma-Cal® vacuum and compound gauges are manufactured using the same Direct Drive technology as our other pressure gauges, and therefore, they are far more resilient to unforeseen pressure fluctuations than c-tube gauges.

For example, all of our pressure gauges, including vacuum and compound, feature the same internals.  Therefore, pulling a vacuum on our standard pressure gauge will not harm the calibration of our gauge.  In the same sense, positive pressure on a vacuum gauge will not harm the internals of our gauge.

This is in contrast to our competitors.  Since c-tube gauges are manufactured using gears and linkages, pulling incorrectly in the wrong direction can harm the gauge.

To purchase a vacuum or compound gauge, select the menu item “Compound Ranges” on the page titled "Select Pressure Range" while navigating our store, or contact the factory to place an order.
